Key Blanks for a 1980 Civic?
Anyone know where I can get keys made for my 1980 Honda Civic Hatchback? I have tired every where, including the dealer. No luck. They actually look like golf cart keys.

Re: (eL)
I have the existing keys, but I only have one set. I want to get a spare set made.
The honda dealer I went to (Avondale Honda) had a 19-21 year old girl working the parts counter alone. She giggled and looked baffled. Seemed like she did not realize hondas were made all the way back in 1980

Have you tried taking your key to a Home Depot or maybe even a local place where they make copies? I always get my car keys copied at Home Depot with no problem. Are those keys in anyway special that they wouldn't be able to be copied at a normal place? Goodluck

Tried Home Depot. NO luck. They just have the newer Honda keys.
Are you serious about the golf cart store, or was that a joke.....lol
Here is what they look like next to a set of Ford keys.

hmm
Go to another hardware store which makes copies. most of these places have catalogs w/ keys (and yes they have EVERYTHING from car keys to highschool master keys to copy on to), you just need to get a good guy, and if the guy cant find it, ask for his/her manager b/c they WILL get your key. alternatives is locksmith or buy a freakin new car.
BTW, this is the wrong forum
