Default K20 v.s. B20

I was thinking of getting a new engine for my '92 Hatch and was wondering the advantages and disadvantages of the two.

Um....is this a joke? I think you will have a HARD time bolting in and making the K20 work in your 92 hatchback...you know that is the motor out of the newer Civic Si and RSX right? Well, good luck...I can already see the flames starting...duck in cover!

K20 Disadvantage. Only been done once by Area 51 in southern Cali. COST IS HIGH!!!!

B20 Non-VTEC. Have to get a custom swap because the B20 Tranny doesn't work in Civics.

The B20 is definatly the cheaper way to do this.

If you can fit any of the K20's into the EG, make sure you let everyone know who did that *****!

You know what's really sad.. somebody will go out there and spend $10k on that swap, line up next to somebody who spent like $3k on a turbo setup on a SOHC and get waxed

VTC- who'd rather spend $10k on a built B20-T

i met that guy and saw his car in person about 8 months ago. car is no joke. its stock as hell on some SI rims. when i talked to him and his friend we asked them what motor they were running and when he said a rsx type r motor i was like.....WTF can you run that by me again. man...his car takes off!!! and his friend with a EG had the b16b in his motor so these guys were running some pretty damn nice motors for a long time now.

well it is what, 190-200whp stock. K20's are the motors that get great gains from such trivial things as bolt ons as well

DAMN!!! Goes to show, for the right price, and with the right fabricator, you can do anything.

That K20 swap is a very remarkable one. But as far as price goes. Unless you got ONE hheeellll of a deal. Or money to spend. It aint worth it right now.
But mad props to who do it
