for the life of me i cant figure out what's with my ecu... i know it's a bitch tuning v-tec on an obd2 ecu but i'm gettin this check engine light and i've double and tripple checked my wiring, they're all correct but i cant get this damn check engine light to go away does anyone have any idea as to how i can get this thing to work, or how to hard reset it... it's also limiting my revs at 6500 instead of the normal 8200 for a 99 si anything will help thanks

Do we know that it is a VAFC?
I dont think he said what kind. I have an obdII car with a vafc and I have noticed that it does not like the vtec engagement and dissengagement points to be messed with to much. Some times if I have it set to about 4500 and I get into it in 4th, I will get a CEL and the ecu will throw me into limp home mode. obdII is finiky and I am in the process of swaping to obd I.

agreed... obdII swallows a big one, and yes it is a VAFC... before i took it off it ran good but still did that annoying CEL Bullshit, now it's just always on i just finished unplugging it i'm sick of that damn ecu i'm actually gonna rewire my ecu harness cuz of all the wiring i've gone through it's a freakin mess down there... lucky my dads an architect and he's got a few electrician friends haha

So even without the VAFC, you've got codes? Well....what code is being thrown?

do you know how to check your code? If you checked that we could probably help you a lot better.

When I first installed mine they didn't ship the addition to the wiring hook-up, mine at frst ran fine then it wouldn't rev past 5k, hit the limiter, went to the apexi site and got the update to the install and everythinhg is kosher now...

the new update is saying that we should hook up the VTM wire. Is this the new update that you guys are talking about? I have a slight stumble at around 5500 rpm, I wonder if this is the cause of that? Any one else have this issue?
