Just ran across a '93 del sol for dirt cheap / need some power solutions.....pls/thnx
So i work for a used car dealership and ran across this 93 del sol on a bid sheet, sooo..
Long story short, i am thinking b18 b1 w/ t3/t4 turb, big brakes, suspension, anti sways and strut bars...
Is there a better engine to go in this? Unfortunatly i'm not sure what engine is in it now, but for 150$ i don't see it running too well?
Basically, what would you do with an almost free Del sol??
Thanks alot for your input!

K-series?
For the money you could rebuild the D-series thats in it and make more than you would with the b18b setup.

Depends on how much time I had.
B16+S21 would be easiest, just source a Del Sol VTEC wiring harness, ECU, etc. and away you go.
A rear engine conversion would be sweet.
And a V8 wouldn't be a bad choice either.

S (base model) is non-VTEC. In 92-95 it was a 1.5L engine. In 96-97 I think they bumped it to 1.6L.
Si is SOHC VTEC, 1.6L.
VTEC is DOHC VTEC, B16A3/B16A2 1.6L.

Dang beat me to it. All correct info. Check TeamdelSol For more info on everything related to the Sol.

As far as a rebuild of a Single cam for boost. I would go with Pistions, Rods, Block Gaurd, P&P head (optional), best headgasket you can buy, Valves, Springs, Retainers and a Cam, Dont forget to tune it after the turbo. Doing this is often cheaper and simpler than a swap and can provide HUGE power numbers 350whp+ on pump gas easy. you just got to do it right and plan your build before you start. Good luck
