Just ordered motor
Well, I just ordered my b16 2nd gen from Hmotorsonline after saving up some cash for a while now. Im a college student working part time so took me a while.
Total cost was $2583 shipped to me in FL. Not too bad I guess.
After many hours of reading and searchin on HT, im going with a stage 1 ACT organic clutch as I dont really have major plans for this motor, maybe some good 4-1 headers, intake and a catback exhaust. Also plan on buying some tein basics for this setup once I get my next couple of pay checks hehehe...
Im thinking of doing the swap my self at my cousins place. Not sure though heh..
Ill definately keep you all posted on when I get the motor and when it is in, and how it is running...
all i gotta say is, the next week is gonna feel like a year

gald to see you got the motor!
well I would tell you NOT to get the tein basic... they suck donkey ballz. many distrbutors will not even sell it...
find out now if possible if your going FI or staying NA... it will save you some money down the road.

Re: Just ordered motor (B CRUZ)
I prolly wont be going FI. In college, and dont even have a garage of my own to work in since I live in an apartment for now.
From what I have read, Tein basics are pretty good? Correct me if im wrong..
Either way I was planning on going Tein or Koni Yellows/GC setup... Not sure yet , but definately leaning towards Tein.. Before my hatch, I owned a Eclipse GST. I had a set of Tein springs on it, with a mild 1.5 inch drop. The ride was pretty good. Not a very stiff agressive setup, but enuff to float my boat.
Pls view ur opinions though on tein, wont wanna buy a product thats pricey and no good eh?

I love my Tein S-Tech springs on KYB GR-2 silver struts for my 1990 hatchback.
I think Koni Yellows will be overkill for such a soft-rate spring as the Tein S-Tech though. I have Koni Yellows and custom Eibach ERS coil-over springs on my "racey" 1992 hatch and they are killer for sure, but I also run silly 425F 550R rates as opposed to the usual coil-over rates of about 350F 280R.
If you want a link to my driving impressions, pics of the install, pricing, etc. of the Tein/KYB install I'll hook it up.
Here's a teaser pic:

The KYB GR-2s are only like $200.00 or $220.00 online from any place that sells close to wholesale pricing. they seem to be a perfect match for the Tein S-Techs, which are a slightly stiffer than stock progressive rate spring.
The KYBs have a lifetime warranty too - that's good.
When driving normal they seriously feel stock, but they firm up a bit when pushing the car hard.
Also just as important as sus in terms of handling, are your TIRES. What size wheels are you running? what tires are you running, or plan to run?

Don't even start that crap please. That's a way to hi-jack a topic, so don't go there.
Some people don't want the H22A in their cars - deal with it.
