Default just got a new hb have a question??

i got a new hb, and i got the key for it. But that key only works for the ignition, and it is a honda key. But it wont unlock my doors. One of the door rods is broken on the driver side, but the passenger side is just fine and still the key wont open the door. anyone have any ideas? the reason the driver side wont open, is because the plastic peace that locks and unlocks has a whole for the rod. that part with teh whole is broken off. but still the key should work on the other side. the car is a 93 cx hb i guess i might just have to go install an alarm instead of trying to fix it.

I would take the locks to a locksmith because if your key is a honda key and it opens the doors then the previous owner probably switched the doors sometime ago and you dont have a key for that. Honda wouldnt either.

Are you positive that the key for the door and the key for the ignition is the same? Has the column ever been replaced or the ignition switch ever been replaced?

check into what evil said, see if the ignition cylander has been replaced, and yes they will cut your keys according to the vin. At least that's what they did for my 96

What good is it to take it to the dealership if they're going to cut the key to the VIN? If the previous owner swapped out the cylinders or doors he's going to get the wrong key. Right?
