Default just got my y8 swapped into my 96 dx

And the following problems were, p28 is auto not manual, iacv was acting up, and constant high idle 1700. Ok so i took out the p28 and did the manual conversion and that was fixed. checked the cell that came on and it was code 14. so the 3wire iac was converted to 2wire. now it's just the high *** idle. i know yall hear this **** all the time. i used a whole can of carb cleaner to detect any vacuum leaks, and there is none. the engine didn't bog down one bit or change idle. symptoms are vacuum leak. once you start the car idle jumps and drops once or twice max and sticks at 1700. 1996 civic dx d16y8 skunk 2 intake mani, y8 tb, hayame fuel rail, six puck clutch kit. sorry for got it drags in low rpm's. Let me know something.

Damn..1 1/2 hours and you expect an answer? Don't make your emergency ours.

It sounds like your TPS is misadjusted or your throttle cable is too tight. If your idle doesn't hunt up and down, especially with the engine warmed up but just sticks at 1700rpm, then I'd be looking at the above two items. If the idle were hunting around then that would indicate the TPS was probably alright.

Well usually people respond rather quickly. Throttle cable is fine. TPS i don't know about. When the car is started the idle surges twice max. When you come to a stop it'll do it once.

While the car is running take off your intake and put your finger over the little hole inside your throttle body. If it runs normal you need to replace or tighten your fast idle valve.

i'll do that tomorrow. I live in apartments and once i do that my car will be gone by morning. Thanks. i just can't figure out the high idle. No vacuum leak can be found anywhere. What happens when the tps isn't calibrated correctly?

unplug the iacv when it's idling. see what happens. if it stays steady, then you prob don't have a vac leak. reconnect the iacv, take the intake tube off and put your hand over the TB. see what happens...

anyway, if the iacv is unplugged and if it's steady, where does it's idle at?

Y8 doesn't have a fast idle thermal valve.

Ok so i changed out the tb, and im gaskets, and cleaned out iacv. Fixed one vacuum leak. Checked for more leaks and none found. Car still idles at 1700-1900 rpms. idle surges at a stop like twice then goes back to high idle and sits. Low end power freakin sucks *** until i hit 3500+ rpms. Are there any sensors that couls cause this? No CELs still. i'm stumped. What do yall think.

Did you try setting your idle with the idle screw?

severe vacuum leak. something is way off because it's getting air from somewhere it shouldn't. gotta keep looking and figure out where it's getting it's air from, but try what i mentioned already.

i unplugged the iacv and it surged 100-200 very small. i haven't tried to cover the tb and i will do that once i get a chance. back to the iacv it stayed at 1500 rpms. so it dropped from 1700 to 1500 with a small surge.

Ok so i did this and the car died. So check this out. When the engine got dropped into my car they kept the iacv that was on the IM and the one that was on the TB. They connected them both together with the coolant lines. So after i covered the TB i decided to cover the iacv opening in the TB. The idle dropped to normal. The question i have now is. How do i bypass the one on the TB? Is there a way to do that or do i have to replace the TB? Hit me up.
