Just got back from the track with my h22 hatch
Just got back from the track. This was my first time ever at a real drag strip. I only got 2 runs in, and this was at cali speedway. Didnt really do that well, maybe you guys could figure out what i can do to better my times..
my car:
92 cx
h22a4
j's racing knock off intake
cheap ebay header
2.25 crush bent exhaust with stock cat
jdmshit h22 ecu chip
1st run:
r/t-1.196
60'-2.426
330-6.336
1/8-9.539
mph-77.92
1000-12.278
1/4-14.615
mph-95.41
2nd run:
r/t-.771
60'-2.436
330-6.345
1/8-9.540
mph-78.03
1000-12.266
1/4-14.596
mph-95.64
is it me or does my 1/4 mph seem slow? anybody think i have a chance to break into the 13's?

With that car and that motor you have a very good chance of hitting 13s. Just practice your launches.

not looking very good to me, your mph is quite low. Your 60' is bad, but if you can shift at all, your mph should be higher with that engine.
i think maybe your "stock cat" is wrecking everything.

Damn, those time are kinda high for an h22 hatch
Launch better, get better 60', try to stay in VTEC , and just hold on
H22 hatch is usually good for low 14, high 13 with minor boltons on street tires
EDIT: and you trap should be around 100-103 mph

yeah im gonna try and get better tires for next time, the engine seems healthy i had it dynoed a couple weeks back. For my first time drag racing i didnt think it was too bad but i guess it is, i did beat out the cars that i was lined up against which were a 93 twin turbo rx7 and a 2003 bmw m3. If i were able to get my 60's down to lets say about a 2.1, what times could i actually be doing? heres a dyno sheet by the way..

Yeah those numbers seem kinda high...Im running 8.6s launching at 1500 at 83mph on street tires in a 92 4 door...Im also running a b series mugen chipped p28...I thought about buying the jdmshit h22 program but im unsure now...is there anyway possible that u could get ahold of a mugen program and see if u can feel any difference? Good luck on getting your 60fts down

Re: (Vp Special K)
dang foo, those are some rough times man, u need to lower your 60 fts and you 'should' run a 13. Before i sold the H22 eg i had it went 13.8 on azenis. It was the first time that i had gone out in the h22 hatch, but i have had over 40+ passes with my b16 hatch and b16 CRX. My 60 foot was a 2.1 with the 13.8 pass (traction bars are key). I only had CAI, bent DC 4-2-1 and sraight pipe out the muffler. Stock p13. The engine was fresh from Hmotorsonline.com so it was "alive." Get some more driver time and for sure you will run a 13's it just depends on how familiar you are with the car. Oh ya man the engine is still running strong bro i went 600+ miles alone in the past few days also, did u know it had a TB, Cam gear, and ported manifold???

Times seem high but not bad for your first time at the track. Work on your reaction time. Some slicks should help out your 60ft times. Did you have alot of wheel hop? If your gonna run street tires at the track use less air pressure. And practice.

a 2.4 60ft, could be improved upon,
but I with street tires.. considering your new at this,
i'm not sure expecting 2.0 is feasable, maybe more like 2.2,
and that might not bring it down to a 13sec.
i'd say get some GOOD boltons,
2.5" mandrel exhaust, HIFLOCAT(that stockie is gona slow things down), get a better filter on that intake. something thats proven to flow, personally I wouldnt trust some knockoff filter. a tube is a tube is a tube, but filters vary.
kn filters are proven to work well.
I wouldnt trust that ebay header either man.
especially headers you wnat something good or stick with stock,
i've heard of cruddy headers giving no improvement or being worse than stock.
but yeah with all that, and some good tires(not saying slicks but something sticky) and good driving, get your 60ft down to 2.1
i'd say 13's should be assured.

Re: (Tad)
24psi is too high of a pressure on those tires. I ran my azenis at 18PSI on a 2900lb car with ~200whp for 2.0's. The 60' times aside youre not going to be breaking 13's with trap speeds like that. 95mph will get you low 14's with a good launch. Something is amiss somewhere in the rest of your run.
How are your shifts going? are you having trouble getting into gear or something? alot of wheelspin into the next gear? Is it bogging somewhere in the powerband? 95mph is real low for the weight of your car and the power of that motor.
Since it was your first time, and ive heard the H22 is tricky on the track anyways, practice is probably the only answer you need. Keep at it and those times are sure to drop.

Re: (H22A EG6)
yeah definatly need to learn to drive better, your car is capable of much faster times, practice makes perfect! Im hoping to hit a 13.9 in my gsr hatch this season with IHE.

yeah my whole i/e/h set up is basicaly what i threw on the engine to get it running, i dont think i even payed over 200 for the i/e/h im actually saving for an an-r header and kteller's 2.5 mandrel piping and im also looking into bfg drag radials. Anybody have any luck with those?
yeah i spin my tires basicaly through 1st and 2nd, didnt really have much time to get more runs in to launch at different rpms...thansk everybody
