Just got a 95 Civic... dropping a H22 in it... should i do anything else?
I just got a 95 civic, for $2400 and a Prelude motor, for $4000, the car only has some minor suspension problems and the motor is in perfect condition with only 30K on it. What other Modifications should i put on it? Im willing to spend $2,000 on modifications. Also... do i need to buy prelude motor parts or civic motor parts? Thanks

spend money on getting a nice suspension, including strut and sway bars, its worth it especially with a heavy motor like a H22. go out and buy a nice intake and exaust system. also, spend the money on getting nice motor mounts. and if you by parts for your motor, you need to get H22 parts.

yep, clearly stated, just buy front upper and lower bars, rear upper and lower, coilovers, adjustable if possible. apexi exhaust, and an iceman cold intake, from my researching, you shouldn't run into more than $1500 if not less, i am not sure how prices go... some searching is good... later.

Tein or tanabe sustecs...or koni adjustables. You will need a mount kit check out either hasport or hcp.

you should take the skyline and him the civic, j/k... nice though. i hope he's upgraded the turbo in that sucker. It is pretty fast as it is, but aftermarket turbos and some good tuning will greatly help that car become a monster.
hehhe. good job.

So, what motor is in the Civic now? If it has a decent motor, you could part it out and have more money for a turbo H22 fund. That motor stock will own all, but with 10+psi it will tear the tires off the rims.

how complete?
i got my swap for
2050 w/LSD tranny, ecu, etc
add 680 for DSS axles
75 for shift cables
55 for intermediate shaft
thats pretty complete and under $3000.
what else did she get with her motor? if its the COMPLETE swap, like, in the car and drivable its not a bad price. but she said she got the engine for $4000. thats a lot...

DAMN! i'm sorry for you</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yea you got absolutely hosed! Take that **** back. You could have bought it and had a shop install it for less than that.
but if u do have the double duce, then you SERIOUSLY need to work on the suspension. With the right setup you can get close to being able to handle, but it wont be as good as a b-series. I believe If u just wanna go cheap, that GC has come up with some supposed spring rates for h-series motors in civics, so you could give them a call and see what they say.

Hey, this is her boyfriend. I don't have a skyline.. hahaha I wish. Anyways, we're not actually paying that much for the motor. Here's what she's getting. A 95 civic ex, h22 motor, Iceman CAI intake, DC SS header, Hayame cat-back exhaust, new clutch (not sure what yet), Skunk2 coilovers, Tokico 5-way adjustable shocks, tinted wondows, and a system consisting of a deck, amp, and 2 jl subs. All that for 8,500 INCLUDING labor. The car is in good condition too, just has high miles. So it seems next on the list are sway and strut bars...

how much would it cost about for a h22 swap into a 92-95 hatch?? complete..but not labor...just all the parts that i would need for a good swap...suspensiion..motor..axles..everything..etc. not including the car

Re: Just got a 95 Civic... dropping a H22 in it... should i do anything else? (Dj Villain)
i say good a good 4k easily...this is my guess
2400 swap
250 shipping
650 hasport mounts maybe 600
do u have power steering???
100 for manual steering rack
200 for shifter assembly..most swaps dont include this..
and the rest for little misc. parts such as the right axles and what not...then u would need a new clutch with is another 400 and change timing belt and water pump...u see if u want to do it right u get all the little stuff taken care of becuase once its in there not much room to work with like a timing belt...like a sed 4k easily...also!!! labor can be anywhere from 1k-1500 this includes doing the wiring and all the shaving of the mounts and crap...alot of work is needed but the end result of a basically stock motor will be well worth it....
some people skimp on some stuff and thats fine...ive seen people do it as cheap as 3k but thats pushing it already if u think about the mounts costing 600 bucks alone..but have problems...there alot more failure stories then success stories that i have heard...there are a gang of people on here that got their running good but this forum would only account for say 10% of all the other people out there..so do your homework...if ur ever in cali try out midnightperformance.com they do great work, prices are a lil more steep on the work but u will have no problems with the car...
