Just bought 98 Ex, Jumps in mid RPM
Hey H-T, I just bought my first car and its a 1998 Civic ex with a GSR Bottom end and B16A head... When i drive it in 3rd gear starting usually from 4500RPM- all the way up to fourth and fifth the car studders and gets "Jumpy". I do not have any experience at all with repairing engines and everything so all the help i could get woul dbe really appreciated!
I will answer all questions to the best of my abilities.

bump.
I checked all the CEL's and none were on.But to check codes i would need a tool that connects to the ECU right?
The plugs and wiring all seem new but how would i check to see if the plugs are making a good spark? But i have no clue how to see if the ignition timing is set though
EDIT- If you could post pictures of hwo to acces some of these parts that would help alot, and i could supply pictures if needed.

-Click the CEL sticky at the top. When you turn the key from off to ON(II), does the CEL turn on and then off after 2 seconds?
-Click the spark link in my signature.
