Default Is a JDMCARBOY.COM Mugen Twin Loop Style Exhaust legit replacement for a Fix-it Ticket?

I'm just wondering if a mugen twin loop style exhaust from jdmcarboy a legal replacement for my exhaust since I recently got a fix-it ticket for a "modified" exhaust. Also Is the mugen twin loop style exhaust under 95db and if so can i get a random cop to sign my ticket with that mugen twin loop style exhaust on it?

Oh and I'm in California if that helps.

yeah they are...they said that my exhaust is "loud enough to ticket someone for" and he gave me a ****** fix-it ticket without using a sound meter/decibel meter to see exactly how loud my exhaust is.

well how can he sign off tickets if my exhaust is really illegal lol. it's like 100db at 3000RPM. and i'm wondering if it's possible if i can put the mugen twin loop exhaust on and take it to your uncle's friend to test it out and sign it off legally.

It should be fine, it's a fairly quiet exhaust.

You see the problem is, your ticket isn't legit if he didn't use any kind of meter or guage.

yeah that's what i thought about the ticket until i read up on the CHP website that it's fine that the cops don't use the sound meter on me

You can be pulled over for ANY exhaust aside from STOCK. Which means even if it passes sound tests, you can be pulled over. But every officer has their own extremes.

its a very quiet exhaust. Plus the tip is very small. I've had mine on for 2 months and have been pulled over but never for the exhaust. O, i dont have a cat and its still not loud.

officers are allowed to pull you over for any modification to exhaust... the ticket is given based on their own judgement and assesment of the situation. It you want it written off i believe new state law requires that one goes to a ref and get it metered...

in ca, any modified exhaust is illegal. twin loop is a modified exhaust. Thus twin loop is illegal.

look at that reasoning

well if any modified exhaust is illegal...that means pep boys, kragen, and all of those places would go out of business

so you're saying that i should get it metered by a ref and what's the legal limit in california? it has to be under 95db at 3000RPM right?

If they wanted to, tehy could give you a ticket for one of those exhausts also. Still modified. As stupid as it sounds, It is true.

It's not illegal to sell modified exhausts. you can run your car on the track..

It like guns. Its illegal to shoot them in the city, but you can always go huntin

Any exhaust that is LOUDER then stock is illegal. Ive heard many different versions and laws of this. Ive heard that anything modified is illegal from one cop. then from the referee i heard that anything louder is illegal. Then i heard that if it doesnt look stock and sound stock its illegal. Thats why i changed mine to stock and quiet lookin one.

Good Luck

Do whatever you want about sound. Any muffler other than OEM qualifies as Altered Exhaust. Aka, you can still get a ticket.

i once got pulled over for modified exhaust. when i first bought my car it had some POS rice can on it. when i got the ticket i didnt have a stock one to throw back on so i opted for the twinloop. went to court and an officer made me turn on my car. let it idle. then rev it up to 2500-3000. he heard it and said " ok sounds good". got it cleared and everything. no prob
