Default JDM transmission question??

Ok so I my friend has a LSD hydro b16 tranny from a 1/2 cut eg chassie and he wanted to sell it to me and so when I came to buy it i took a look at it and noticed it has the white serial sticker but it also has the 2 holes for a vin plate. My question is: Do JDM eg hydro tranmissions have vinplates or do the bell housings just come with them from the factory? The only reason I ask is because it doesn't look like there was ever a plate on the tranny. Any imput is greatly appreciated.

the holes should be on the bell housing right next to the stamp on your engine block.
