JDM Parts
Hi There,
I am from South Africa and here we use RHD cars. I was just wondering if there's anyone out there that can help me! I can only find LHD parts at online stores and I really need RHD parts.
Specifically, right now I am looking for a RHD driver side window regulator because mine gave in and I dont know if a LHD passengar side window regulator will work or not ?
Any help would be appreciated (whether you know the answer to this last question, or if you know where I can buy OEM replacement parts for RHD honda's online!).
Thanks!

apartheid was lame, i'm glad your country has moved on, is nice to see even in south africa people are worrying about their civics and not of a painful death by machete.
anywho, if i were you i'd take a look at your rhd regulator and a lhd one, should answer your question for you.
man having a rhd car must suck online, having to pay the "jdm" premium...

Tell me the year, trim, body of your car and I'll look it up to be sure. Also, just in case, is it power or not?
I can look up parts for South African Hondas.

Re: (NOFX)
Thanks for all the responses guys!
NOFX - Its a 93 Honda Civic Sedan - Luxline
I know in USA they were "LX", "DX" and "EX - but here they were "Luxline" and "Encore" I believe. I havent quite worked out which one im closest to, but I believe its the EX since its the only one with a D16 (though EX had ABS and mine doesnt)!

They're the same part numbers for RHD and LHD (dependent on it being power or manual of course).
So USDM LHD window regulators will work for your South American Market RHD Civic.
(Sorry, I had to go to work earlier, thus the late response.)

I just got those from the USDM EPC. IIRC, they're the same as the part numbers for the rest of the world. Occasionally a part number will change a bit for different countries even though the part is the same (example - front bumpers, lips).
Here's my thread of places to buy OEM parts.

Keep in mind that they might not all ship to you.
By the way, I couldn't find the Luxline listed as a trim level in my EPC. Could you tell me what the engine code is? And this would be even a bigger help... could you send me the numbers on the side of your ECU? This would tell me what the market code for your car is for sure.

Re: (NOFX)
Cant get the engine code or ECU number since car is sitting @ mechanic. Thanks though, I gave the number to the local honda place and it seems to be the right part
Monoc4m - Dont have pics of when it was working and all that, but I have a conversion thread going over here which shows pics of it in its broken (yet original) state as well as the whole hybrid swap and all: http://www.hondaracing.za.org/...13080

Re: (NOFX)
Well, technically it is a Ballade. All it is was 'marketing'; it is in fact a Civic, but Daimler-Benz thought that it was a fancier name (more on this here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Ballade). So yeah, locally it is known as a Honda Ballade, everywhere else in the world - its a Civic. Since I dont like the name 'ballade' - I opted to de-badge the ballade and bring it back to its proper name - Civic.
As for the 160i; it died I have now got a roaring K20A in it - so 160i isn't really applicable

I figured it might be that. I know about the Ballade.
You do realize that you not calling it the right car caused me to not be able to find your model in the parts catalog... right?
I had to look at other countries' models instead.
It will always be a Honda Ballade 160i. An engine swap won't change that.
Oh, and the Ballade was available in other countries too.

Re: (NOFX)
Well to my knowledge, only in South Africa was the 5th gen Civic called a Ballade and that because of Daimler-Benz. If it was available in other countries as a Ballade, it was probably because of South African exported Ballades.
Sorry about the confusion there; whenever posting in international forums or when contacting international companies I dont even bother trying to mention the word 'ballade' - no one ever knows what it is and it just delays getting answers
Thanks again for the help NoFX

Re: (SupaMonkey)
Hi NoFX - I hope you read this; I was wondering if you could look up another part number for me?
Its a really annoying little piece that always seems to get broken (mine was fine for years until a simple slip up!) Ive visited dozens of scrap yards and on all cars this piece is broken or missing and its driving me mad!
Basically, the hood 'stand' clips into a small U shapped plastic piece when not in use. What is the part number of that plastic piece??
Thanks in advance!

Re: (SupaMonkey)
Sorry, call me stupid, but I can find an "OEM Sellers" thread? Search function is "currently unavailable" and using google doesnt return any results for such a thread name...
