Default JDM B16 peeps, need some info

need some quick info on a '91 JDM B16(I think its '91). any of you guys running 200hp at the wheels NA? What is the stock CR of the JDM B16? And what is the stock FD? Ive got a friend with the motor already, and is interested in building it up to about 200hp NA at the wheels. Ive got a worked ITR but I dont know too much detail about the JDM B16. Cost is an issue, and hes only 17 so I want him to do it right the first time. Me and some friends can probably handle most of the work ourselves. Heres what I suggested to him so far, tell me what you think:

ITR Throttle body
ITR/Skunk2 IM
maybe a slight port/polish of the head
Skunk2 stage 2 cams(low cost compared to others) with some 5 bolt cam gears
stock valvetrain, maybe upgraded if needed
CTR pistons(what CR does the JDM B16 have with CTR Pistons?)
thinner head gasket(spoon or mugen or other)
probably stock injectors(what size are the stock JDM injectors?)
FPR
quality 4-1 header
2.5in Cat
2.5in Exhaust
no p/s or a/c
probably s100 hondata
lightweight flywheel/clutch combo
tuning tuning and more tuning

anything else? what would you add or change? Id just like to hear some feedback on what works and what doesnt on the JDM B16.

Thanks

after talking with the skunk2 guys at SEMA, i'd upgrade valvetrain using stage 2's. I think the compression ratio of a first gen b16 is 10.2:1...not sure. If its a first gen what car is it going in? Remember those have cable trannies. 200hp at the wheels N/A also probably wont make for a good street/daily car with a b16. May want some stronger rods as well.....but thats just a suggestion.

Good Luck.
Wish i had that kind of cash when i was 17....hell i still dont have it!

The motor is currently installed in a CRX, but will be swapped into a 91 hatch. I think it is still a cable tranny and it shouldnt be a problem. Thanks for the reply.

good start...

upgrade the valve train with the skunk2's....youll need to rev the **** out the motor and the stock valve train wont cut it....probably 9k..?

also, daily driven 200hp b16 is kinda far fetched....most i have seen is about 187 or so to the wheels...

seeing 200hp will need some insane compression ratios and the car will not be daily driven friendly...

maybe a chipped P28 with a VAFC should do the trick for tuning... and maybe some 310 injectors...

also, what car will it go in??? I have a cable tranny in my 93 coupe and i love it....

consider a b18c if you want 200hp daily driven....

also, if you do go the B16 route, then a 175 hp would still make a pretty damn fast car and also, it would be a b16....

200whp in a stock bore B16 . I have a 201whp B16 but I have also spent a lot to get it there. Your proposed setup is a very good start (I can see 190whp easily).

make sure you don't get a cable tranny, I don't think you will be happy at all. make sure it is a second gen B16A because of compression to start, although you will probably not need it because you a rebuilding the hole car. Valve train, Pistons, ex. Make sure you have the compression to get those #'s. CTR's, Machine the head.....200whp is a lot for a daily driven B16. Good luck.

does the s100 hondata do a whole lot? i was looking into getting hondata, or possibly just a new ecu, this help at all, anyone know from experience, if so, what were the gains like an where were they most noticed? thanks

by the way, i dont mean to try and take over this post, im just interested in reaching those kinds of whp as well out of a n/a b16a. maybe not 200 whp, but 185 for a daily driver sounds good to me. thanks.
