japanese RADAR detectors! will they work?
hey well im about to leave japan and everywhere i go i see these radar detector things....everyone has one but i dunno if they will work in the US
since i dont read or speak japanese i dunno if it is even a radar detector because most of the radar looking ones are ETC like 'speedpass' for the tolls but some have pics of like the things pickin up sirens and ambulances
should i waste my money on this.?
oh yea i just went to spoon...too cool

Re: (mugen76)
Well ive always heard that the electronics in japan are always like a couple years more advanced then the stuff offered in america and other countries.....Just what ive heard. So it might be cool to pick one up but it might also not receive like the US police car type of signals.

they get alot of the ideas from the us. there is i believe somethign abuot a copyright law that makes them hold onto a patent for 5 years before implementing it, but usually by that time someone has come out with soemthign better. they arent the leaders in tech by anymeans.
the us buys a lot of parts from japan because in some cases its cheaper than to manufacture them here. labor there is very cheap, unlike here.
