ive got a question...greddy evo2 vs. apexi ws2
alright, im having a really tough time deciding between the greddy evo2 catback exhaust and the apexi world sport 2. i have a stock '99 civic si coupe, and i want to have the deep rumble sound but i also want to be able to have a conversation while im on the highway, and im looking for the best performance too so its hard coming up with a choice. any help would be awesome

so is the greddy too loud to where you cant hear yourself talk? cuz like i said, i'd like a little deep rumble but nothing too loud

Re: ive got a question...greddy evo2 vs. apexi ws2 (blkSi)
i just put an evo2 on my em1, and i'm very happy with it. it has a nice deep tone, but its not too loud. i noticed more of a gain with it than i noticed on my old eg with an apexi ws2. it also quiets down a lot to almost being unnoticeable when you're just crusing in 4th or 5th at lower rpms. i'd consider it to be right in the middle of the sound level of a apexi ws2 and n1. last but not least, i had some fitment issues with the ws2 out of the box, but the evo2 fit perfectly.
both are very nice exhausts, don't get me wrong... but having owned both i'd say go for the evo2. hope that helps!

IMO WS2 > * but thats just cuz I have the WS2
No but seriously, both are good exhausts. If you want something quiet but yet very deep and nice sounding get the WS2, if you want something a little louder with most likley better performance then go for the GReddy.

ok, on my 99 ex. I used to have the evo 1, it rusted out on me. so I replaced it with an ws2.
the evo 2 is supposed to be exactly the same as the evo 1 just made out of stainless steel.
the evo has a good sound and isn't overwhelming loud until you modify the header and/or cat. I had a dc 4-2-1 and a test pipe with the evo, it was extremely loud on the highway. when driving out of town I would have to use ear plugs to keep my headache from turning into a migrane. it did have good power as it's a pretty free flowing exhaust. it also has very good ground clearance.
my ws2 is much quiter, I can hear my radio again and carry on a conversation without yelling at the person sitting next to me. it has a little bit better lower end than the evo, but it doesn't seem to have quite the top end that the evo had (butt dyno). the resonator on the ws2 is bigger and hangs lower than the evo so I can hear it scratching on alot of taller speed bumps. when I put on the ws2 I put on a high flow cat too. The sound is very nice all the way through the rpms. it goes from you can't hear it to a nice growl at upper rpms.
if you're going to daily drive your civic, get the ws2 you'll be much happier in the end. but if you're boosted or plan to be in the near future consider the evo as you'll get a better top end gain with the freer flowing evo muffler.

Re: (r3p00c)
I was also considered between these two exhausts and finally ordered WS2 last week. I don't care few HP less for a quiet and quality sound. I will get much more HP next week with my new turbo kit anyway.

so it makes that much of a difference? i dont plan on removing my cat for a test pipe or anything, but headers yes.

i agree 100% with him. at lower rpm's i dont even notice my exhaust while cruising. it had a subtle deep rumble to it too. i was surprised actually to find out it was so quiet. i was expecting something a bit louder. to be honest with you my car got louder with my intake than it did with my exhaust. and the evo2 is full stainless steel. that was a part of my decision making. you can EASILY hold a convo with someone while on the highway.
i really think the sound has A LOT to do with the setup. not just the motor. i hear extremes of what the evo2 sounds like. some say its REALLY loud, some say its barely noticeable. all i have is a SRI intake and the catback exhaust on a b16a2.
hope this helps
