Default ITR Tranny vs B16 tranny

Im riding a 98 EK4 right now and my clutch is going bad, at the same time, i recieved a good deal on ITR transmission with new clutch , LSD and free labor from one of my boys, he's doing it for me for 500. I was wondering if it is a good upgrade, or should i just spend money on a new clutch???

Major Delimma right now!!,dunno what the hell to do!???!??!

any comment is helpful

Gears are insanely close which means fast 1/4. The downside is driving on the highway. Your rpms sit pretty damn high at 70 mph. For $500, you better jump on that before someone else gets it.

Man thats such a good deal. But like IHateJDM the gears are close i have the ITR tranny in my car and at 80 mph i sit at 4500rpms but i like the 5 gear pulls on the highway to much to give it up now. Get and youll love it.

The B16 tranny and the USDM/96 spec ITR tranny have the same gears.

not that great of a deal, you are basically getting what blue integra boy said, the same tranny with lsd. you can get a clutch for what 250+shipping, and you can normally find the factory helical lsd for 150ish i believe, but you have to search for it.

so you can spend 400 or 500 i would rather spend 400 but you do have to pull apart your trans to replace diff. so if that is worth 100 dollars go ahead and buy the itr trans.

but again the only real benefit is you get to SAY you have an itr trans.

if you ever planned on buying an aftermarket lsd then i would say NO, keep your trans

At $500 no question about it, GET IT! just be sure it's in good shape. acceleration will def be better but as others said, be ready for your gas mileage to drop.

i swapped in a gsr tranny in my old ls and it shaved a several tenths off my 1/4, i can only imagine it would certainly help you as well.

I think the LSD is really the only reason to do it. LSD is great though, I will never own a honda without one again. Get that tranny, you'll love it.
