integra rear sway bar on ek-brackets?
I have a 2000 civic dx, and I was looking to add the integra rear bar on and just get the endlinks and mounting brackets after.
I've been having a bitch of a time finding a place that sells the mounting brackets-and even after I called Honda, the guy said they were like $30 each...is that rite? I mean most threads I've read-which are old-say they should b like 10, but the places they said sold them no longer have anything like that.
I have also read that the gsr brackets will work with spacers added to the top bolts. This would help a lot of people if it could, and I know a lot of ppl have the same question. However, it seems problematic with the whole concept of keeping a mount flush to the frame as to prevent movement and tear out. I am really new to modifying, and have read all around...prob spent months just researching before I got the bar-mostly here, and yes, club civic-I kknow I know... :/...d series.org...superhonda.com-all reputable honda sites (of course honda-tech is the best, no ****...lol)...and like an idiot I spent too much time on info and too little on finding the bracket parts.
I also saw this on ebay-which looks like I can use in place of the brackets...but idk-obx sucks....

Let me know! Thanks

It's true though....a 14mm rear sway is the same size found in the 99-00 civic Si, there in no need for a rear brace.

Tha obx thing is a waste of money.
Try majestic honda, they normally have good prices on alot of things.
Also, you will need 10mm bolts and luck nuts for the car, 4 of each. This is becuase the oem hardware will not work on any car but 99-00 si.
Also, the ASR was not desgined for anything less the a 22mm sway bar, mounting a smaller bar is a problem becuase the d brackets dont fit. It can be done but you will have to mod them or buy adjustable d brackets for like $45.

Majestichonda.com doesnt show anything-and I was js gona use the brackets. screw the tie bar-js remove that and use a different/ no tie bar. Theyre prob just steel brackets, the same that honda would use-but has a 3rd mounting point to the subframe. Idk

Re: integra rear sway bar on ek-brackets?
i just did this on my 96 hatch and used 94-01 integra mounting brackets with spacers and grade 8 bolts and locknuts from Lowes. I used CRV endlinks from ebay and ES bushings for the frame mounts. I used this link as a guide (minus the 99-00 mounting brackets). Let me know if you have any questions:

I wondered if you could use spacers and just bolt in on! Man, you are so much help-this saves me so much hassle. Would you happen to know how long the bolts were, and could you send a link of the spacers, pleeeease? Thank you sooo much!

Re: integra rear sway bar on ek-brackets?
I wish I had written down the lengths and sizes but I didn't . I just took the bracket with me to Lowes and found a bolt (I bought the metric bolts that have the allen key hole) that was the closest diameter. I measure about how long the spacer would need to be plus the thickness of the bracket plus the size of the subframe and added about 1/4". I think the bolt ended up being 2.5" to 3". The "spacers" I used were just washers and the nuts were nylon filled lock nuts.

You are correct. I swear I recall measuring mine off the car and it was 11mm. Oh well, doesn't matter. It was thin as hell. At the time, you could still get the brackets by themselves from Mugen. I ordered the brackets and reinforcement plates and bolted up a Type R rear sway bar. Was one of the best single things I did to my suspension in terms of improvement.

I actually looked up the rear sway, as i have all the original brochures for EK's...and scanned it too. According to Honda, it's a 13mm. The Si does have small upgrades over other stock models. Stock for stock, my EM1 handles WAY better than the stock 96 cx hatch i used to have, difference was night and day!!!!!!

i do agree with deetz. i put si sway bars in my dx and it is easily the best thing i have ever done to my car. Even with the tiny rsb.

Actually, it's probably easiest to buy them from honda-I believe they were about 30 for both, if I'm not mistaken. Give them a call. I also found this as well-

If you get the d brackets, they're pretty cheap on ebay and they have it posted intermittently. I would say buy them off hondaautomotiveparts.com if you get the subframe brackets as well.
this is the best writeup I could find:
http://socalcivic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17313
And there are other ones all over the place-however this was the most helpful.
I actually used the integra brackets, since they came with the bar. I just used some fender washers for both sides, bought the bolts and nuts for both sides, and used spacers for the uneven side of the bracket-if you have the teg brackets you'll know what I mean. I used larger nuts for spacers since they were stronger than those plastic washers and had more surface area than the other metal spacers and put a washer+nut at the end. Get locking nuts.
So basically in a nutshell, attach the endlinks to the swaybar, then to lca's
then swing it up and add the d brackets/bushings and
(If you have the teg bar- attach washer that will sit on subframe, then spacers on uneven end and washer for contact on the swaybar brackets...then washer on the other end of subframe and then the locking nut)
if you have si brackets just follow the diagram from hondaautomotiveparts or the diy writeup above.
