Default Intega Type R pistons in a B18c1 block w/B16 head.

Will this do much for me for extra power? Rebuilding motor now. Might go for it since I am getting new rings anyway. Can I run it like that with the stock Si ecu? All I have for engine mods is a header and intake.

usdm or jdm itr pistons?

either way with the added compression it would be nice to add bigger cams and a tune of course so everything runs correctly.

JDM pistons. Supposedly makes with my combo 11.1:1 according to the ebay ad. Will the car run like **** with no other parts added?

it wont run like **** but you wont be getting the full potential from the build, cams and tuning and your set for some good gains

I am assuming though that I won't get full gains, but would I get something? I just want to do the pistons for now and the rest later.

some CTR cams, tune it and you are going to make some good power with your set up = poor man TYPE R

you probably will get some gains to begin with but to feel the difference you need to tune it to take advantage of the higher compression

The stock Si ecu will not supply the proper fuel curve on your new build. Your car will not run well and you will probably run a little lean which could potentially damage your engine. If you spent all that money on building your engine, why don't you spend a little more to have it properly tuned by running the proper ECU or Hondata style system?
