Let the flame war begin.
It's a cheap knock-off. All intakes do the same thing, suck in air. Only difference is the diameter of the piping. I bet you can Mandrel bend a 3" pipe for $5 and it'll gain as much whp as a $300 unit.

Don't forget some intake piping are more resitant to heat than others.

Ok, so go buy some Heat Resistant paint for BBQ pits for $5 at Wal-Mart. I know NO heat will enter the intake piping now. $10 for a 3" Mandrel bent intake. Slap on a K&N filter...off you go for $50.

of course they dont, because "motors" are run by electricity. Engines suck in air.. atleast thats what i would call it since its a vacuum force at work.. vacuum's suck

OK let's not get too technical. It's like people get offended when other people say their usdm 92 civic is an EG. And so forth.
We didn't answer eh6's question yet.

Think about it. You can go to your local muffler shop, or even PepBoys (they sell piping) and get yourself a 3 ft. 3" diameter straight pipe. Go to a local shop that do Mandrel bending. Bend it so it fits the engine bay from your throttle body to the back of the headlight. Go to your local Wal-Mart and use BBQ Heat Resistant paint. It blocks until about 2,000* F supposedly (but at least your engine bay probably doesn't go above 150*-200* on a Summer day). Spray liberally. Off you go. I bet it'll work just as good as an AEM.

You got it backwards h0mi3. Mandrel bends are the best. Crush-bent sucks and is the cheapest.
Mandrel = Equal diameter along EVERY curve.
Crush = Different diameter along EVERY curve.

Re: (Dimi)
I made a mandrel bent intake before for a friend with some high resistant VHT wrinkled paint I had left over for a valve cover and sprayed it on the piping. Then we put on his apexi power filter, slap some apexi sticker on the piping, and called it a day. Looks a lot better and he said it was more responsive than his K&N typhoon intake.
