installing short throw shifter
i have a 1995 civic hatch, i just got a brand new B&M short throw shifter drom a friend who sold hid car and didn't install it yet.........but my question is, does the car actually have to be jacked up to be installed, because I heard you just have to get to the boot, and I'm not sure exactly where that is.........any help would be appreciated

yes you have to have the car jacked up to install it. you have to unbolt parts of the shift linkage and other bolts that actually hold the shifter in place to the bottom of the car. wherever you heard that you just have to get to the boot, is wrong. there is a short shifter writeup somewhere, its really easy and doesnt take long at all.

Re: installing short throw shifter (msinsky14)
yes u need to get under it....
10m and 12mm socket short
rachet long extension
take the shifter **** off
jack the car up
the exhaust rubber hangers near the shifter need to be pushed forward to give some slack
remove the 2 12mm nuts holding the flat mount on the right
remove the 12mm bolt off the bottom of the shifter.
remove the 10mm nuts attaching the shifter plate to the shifter rail
u will need a new shifter kit may be in the kit with theb/m if not buy energy suspension kit....
pull shifter down
replace the shifter boot kit and reverse process.
if your on the ground expect it to take 1 hour your first time.
