Re: INSTALL/HOW TO: '92 Civic Front Sway Bar (Built B16A)
I have a question. How much did it cost for all the parts to install the front swaybar? Wouldn't it be just cheaper, easier and faster to install a Suspension Tech. swaybar setup. I purchased a front and rear setup for $219.00 shipped for my 95 eg hatch. If I'm wrong them please correct me. I didnt want to go to the trouble to find all the parts and stuff like you did. I thought for the price of new parts it was a good deal with great results.

umm.. let me talk to my supplier at work.. (vendor comes in and stocks all our parts shelves) and see what company makes the actual tool, and then we'll go from they're.

Re: INSTALL/HOW TO: '92 Civic Front Sway Bar (Spins)
yea, it might be just easier to buy a suspension techniques front sway bar...(cuz it doesn't need to be bolted onto the front LCAs, right?
I got all my stuff for fairly cheap...plus, i like working on my car..so I didn't mind the labor.
-Used OEM 92 civic SI front sway bar - $20
-New OEM 94+ integra front LCAs - $80! ( I think these go for over 200 bucks for one side at honda)
-Sus. tech. endlinks - $13 new
-Prothane swaybar bushings - $8 new
-honda sway bar brackets - $6 new (each side...so $12 for two)
-Honda bolts and nuts - New $under 2 bucks
So it cost me $141 bucks...and it fits and feels perfect...no regrets here

Wow, that nutsert thing is the ****..glad to know about that. I plan on doing this little front sway bar swap also to replace my Suspension Techniques one I currently have on. I hope to use a 24mm or 26mm front bar...

no doubt... i asked a friend up north that works for a garage that is in high volume mechanical shop(city or public transit), and he has them also.. so they're not that uncommon.. but they have saved my *** a few times.
i honestly didn't know what to do once that nut stripped. i was liek ****.. and i asked my boss for an opionion, and he said.. nutsert.. hahaha.. what a life saver.

Re: INSTALL/HOW TO: '92 Civic Front Sway Bar (Heinz57)
The sway still has to be bolted on. S.T. supplies brackets to do so. The install was quick and easy. Yeah I like working on my cars also. I had a 90 Turbo Mazda Miata, with some help from friends I modded just about everything on it. It was fun and a learned alot about cars in general from this project. Just about any of the parts from the new miata's could be transplanted into the first generation I had with ease. I'm new to the Honda scene an just trying to learn what can be swapped from model to model and such or which is better to just buy aftermarket. Good write up. I've noticed just in the little I have done so far. My miata seemed to be put together with a little better quality parts, adjustability when stock. It's came stock with Front & rear sways, adjustable suspension if you lower your car, or just want a more agressive setup, toe, camber etc.

yeh, makes sense, the miata was designed to be a budget sportscar/roadster
whereas a civic is designed to be cheap and get you from point a to point b without breaking until the next iceage.
good thing about civics, is that while they may be stripped down completely, and very simple, they're not shitty, so once you build them up they can be amazingly fun cars and really perform quite well

Hey just to throw some info out there. You do NOT have to use Teg or EX/Si front lower control arms to add a stock front swaybar. Your LCA's already have the necessary holes in them.

Re: (T-RO)
what model civic are you talking about? only the civic si came with a front sway bar. you can see the pic comparing my old lca to the integra, and you can see there is no hole in the old lca.

I installed a 94 EX swaybar onto my 92 CX hatch. I didnt have to use the lca's from the EX. Below is a pic of the only parts i had to pull off the donor car.

Re: (egsleepercivic)
to the pic above, those are half of the front lower control arms..so to agree with what i said before..yes, you need front LCAs with sway bar holes for non si/ex eg's.
i mentioned in my first post that "if your exhaust is rusted/frozen like mine, you'll need to cut it cuz it'll be impossible to unbolt the exhaust to downpipe...thats the reason i cut my exhaust in half.......

i really think cutting the sprung exhaust bolts or unbolting at the cat would have been more logical than torching the exhaust, but that's just me.
