Yulp...I just spoke to the guy at Ameripol. They still make them. Costing $649 shipped. That's one upgrade we have to think about.

Wonder if we can have a groupbuy on this...for like a $500...that would be reasonable.

I have seen them for about 500 or so. Basicly what it does is replaces the top shell of your top and uses your laching mechanism.
It comes in a "bronze tint" which gives a yellowish hue to everything, then there is a grey one.
From the pictures that I have seen, it is basicly a one way glass style tint where no one can see in, but you can see out.

I have seen them before. I think they are nice but wayyyy too much money. I could think of much better ways to spend 700 dollars, or ever 500.

really I only think they look good on dark color sols. I saw some old chain smoking 50 yr old women driving in a samba sol with one of those tops and it looks so ugly.

this is something i have only "heard" so don't bash me.
Some of the aftermarket makers of these glass replacement roofs for the sol are not completly glass or its poor glass that warps over time from the heat.
Just remembering something I read a couple years ago.......

Re: (evosol)
The glass roof does not hold up as well as the factory. I have owned two of them over the years on a couple sols and sold them both over time. I noticed that with age they tend to allow more wind buffetting at high speed on the highway and would allow some water to come in the car on rainy days when taking hard corners. In my old sol I had a 4 pt. cage and that helped keep things in line. They are a good product, but not for people that drive hard and definately not for almost 700.00 dollars.
