Info On aem v2 intake??
Anyone have any factual information on this product that has not been force fed from Aem? Graphs, experiences, trials?
I have searched this topic and all I could come up with is people "suddenly" possessing mechanical engineering and physics degrees opinions.

Interesting write-up and comparison. Makes me wonder about AEMs testing practices.

BTW, this is a good magazine. I bought an issue and was pretty impressed with it. Enough so that I got a subscription.

In that dyno done it seems like the v1 cai out performs the v2. I wonder where aem gets the ***** to "claim" some of these numbers.

Great Product!!! AEM in on point with all there products and they stand alone in import performance and no one can touch them. The V2 Is a great intake i sell them everyday, there is an increase in performance over the CAI. So believe what you will but AEM has been doing this for years and will continue to Dominate Any company that stands it its way.

Sounds like that's exactly what you're trying to do...sell them. "Hey! New product came in! Better buy it cuz I get BIIIIG commission if ya' do!"

I personally liked the AEM V2 but for the price i didnt like it. Gave a lil deeper sound and seemed quicker on the butt dyno. But a cheapy CAI with a K&N will do just as good

Re: Info On aem v2 intake?? (NAB16AEK)
I tested in my friends car between the two CAI systems(Test was done on a 99 Civic Si).
Between the two the V1 is nice when it comes to simple install. Just take the air box out and pipe it through to the bumper. It performed really well around the 4500+RPM.
In the V2 it basically out performed the power range feel. I felt the difference around the 3500+RPM, it gave off a deeper tone of air flow, and I think it looks better. But when we came to install it....it was a bitch because it didn't install where we thought. It directly goes near the header which sucks in hot air. The braket that came with it was not exactly what you expect either. The downside of the V2 is the the Price and no bypass for floods.
Overall view of the V2...I give it .

yeah i fell for this one. the best thing about it is it's a 2 piece, so if you hydrolock it's your own fault for not making it a short ram. it sounds real mean though. gun it a 4k and my little 1.6 hums like a surging v10. but sound <> horsepower. i noticed some gains, but i would have rather spent the 200 bucks toward my turbo project instead.
as far as the install: you replace the front transmission mount bracket with the one aem supplies. getting the stud of the factory mount will probably require an impact gun. more importantly, the bolts aem supplies suck ***. go get grade 8 or higher stainless bolts that are 3/4" longer. the ones aem gives you are too short and mine are now. also the instructions say to torque them to 61 lbft... i did that and stripped the threads out of the tranny on one of them. the helms manual says 47 lbft for those bolts
overall i give aem a big for giving me shitty hardware and incorrect instructions on an overpriced intake.
