Driving a RHD in a LHD country can be "Baller" status to some but its "PITA" status for others.
i guess same applies to japan.

Sweet. Is it easier to go throught he phillipines or something? Im looking at seriously doing this. I will be in the same situation with registering it in cali. What kinda of money are we talking, roughly of course, to get that thing over here and registered? excluding the actual price of the car...

there are some websites that import cars to the USA on auction, try googling importing a car japan. that might help. but what ill do is try looking for one that has already been imported, its not going to be cheap. but itll break even with importing it yourself and save you all the hassle and paper work.
PERSONally, i would just make my own type-r, they sell all the jdm pieces apart, BI6B, if you import the engine alone, emissions wont F@&^ with you, LHD conversion w. jdm dashboard. and youre done with money left over to tune everything. personally jdm type rs are overrated, ive seen sicker cars here in the states.
hope it helps. take it easy.

no prob, just google around ctr for sale for other ctr's. but that one looks like a good deal. also, if looking for performance spoon has a block for the ctr that revs upto 10,000 rpm, its killer.

The shipping alone will cost you a fortune, possibly cost more than the car itself. You might want to talk to the engine import companies over in Japan, see if they can send cars internationally.

you could always just import a front clip.... pull the motor and RHD stuff out of there...
i toyed with the idea for the IS300 / Altezza conversion, but RHD wasnt important enough for me to spend the money.

My father-in-law is a car dealer in Japan so I can buy any car I want there. Believe me, when I see $3K SiR IIs over there, I'm really tempted. Unfortunately, if I did, the car would have to stay there. :/
Even if you get a car in the states, how are you going to register it in CA? Emissions are already a b*tch. I'd really like to know 'cause there's a guy selling a sweet looking EG hatch from Japan for less than 6K.
Muscle isn't big in Japan...never really was. I've seen a few muscle cars, but the real baller cars are the Porches and Mercedes. One of my coworkers had a Chevy Tahoe though...big pain in the @ss for him to drive there. Never understood that, especially with gas being $8/gallon.

theresa place in philly pa that sellis ctrs del sols jdm integra type r's and jdm crx/ Its called jdmexchange.com their called elite motor sports when it comes uip now.. The cars are already in the states and if your willing to spend money on importing one over you can spend money on a uhaul try and a tow dolly and drive it back to cali. Imo its not worth it. The bling factor wears off after a month when you try to go to mc donalds and have to go back wards then you look like a complete moron.
