iight guys. i need help. EK exhaust.
i need a clear answer on this. and i havent yet to get one. so im trying h-t.
someone must know the answer because it seems really easy.
anyway-
i have a 1997ej6 (non-vtec d16y7)
i replaced my stock header (which has a built in cat) with an ex 4-2-1 header.
the ex header completely bypassed my exhause and mounted up to the stock exhaust.
so i current have ex header, no cat, and stock everything else.
i drove up to summit racing today ( its only about 5 mins from my place) to look at a ex exhaust because i was told that an ex system fits on hatches.
this was wrong, the ex was must longer, and its because the hatch has a shorter wheelbase.
this was my 2 choices i had.
i can either put my stock header back on, and put the catback thats made for a hatch on my car... OR
i can mount the hatch backback directly to my header, cut a peice out and weld a universal catco, then weld an o2 bung in the catback.
but i was wondering if there was an easier way than just completely hacking the exhaust so make it smog legal/ not throw a CEL.
PLEASE HELP guys...

why not get an exhaust made for 96-00 civic hatchback.
I had dc headers made for an ex on my d16y7 and ran a catback exhaust for an EK. Make sure you run a EX or 99-00 Si catalytic converter.
My setup:
DC headers: 00 OEM Si catalytic converter: HKS Hi Power cat-back exhaust
