Igntion Problem? Engine Problem? what the hell
I just got a motor put in. A D16z6. The engine will not start. I check the 1st cylinder spark plug and it was getting no spark at all. I changed the distributor and now it wont start. I dont know what is wrong. When the motor does start it bulges like crazy i need help fast so please help me out. Also on d16 the number one cylinder spark plugs start at the very bottom correct and work clock wise. When we change the spark plugs around in different orders the car starts. but still bulges.

You have the wrong timing.. it starts in the order of 1 3 4 2 from the closest to the firewall or back of the car.

did you put on the head or removed the timing belt at all??? cuz if you did then you FXXXed up. when you put the car on timing you need to make sure that the arrow on the time cover lines up with the white line on your crank, (thats your
TDC mark(top dead center). first you take out all the plugs.and losen your timming belt tennsoner (little bolt on the timing belt cover, it's a 14mm and mite have a cover over it), and also remove your timming belt, then you put a long rod or extension (about 12") in the #1 cyl. and turn the crank over untell the extension goes as far as possible up. (at the very top, right before it starts to go down). and then look at the crank. the pointer on the cover should be at the white mark on the pully, (not the 3 other marks) and then after you have that in the right place. you get a 14mm and turn your cam,(at the cam gear)clock wise untell the up mark is at the top. and then there's two little lines, one on each side of the cam gear that need to be level with the top of the head(it's easyer to see if you remove the valve cover to make sure it's level). put those little marks level and make sure the up mark is up.(cuz if you don't when you start your car, you mite bend a valve if it's wrong). so when all that's in place put the belt back on, and then (this is going to sound waired but it works) get a old bucket, and take off the metal handle and straten it out with a hammer. and make a small hook on one end and then a larger hook on the other (for the handle part) and when your done with that, you'll notice that you have alot of slack on your belt. so get the small end of hook and place it in the timing cover and pull up on the little bar with the spring on it (timming belt tensoner), and that will give it tenson, make sure that the marks are still in place, (they tend to move with you put tenson on the belt, so if that happens adjust the crank pully alittle farther back so once you put the tenson on the belt it falls right into place.) so when it's lined up and your pulling on the timming belt tensoner bar(don't pull too hard, you don't want it to be too tight), get your 14mm and tighten the tensoner bolt, and there you have it. put it all back together, and put the wires where they go and start it up. good luck

NO MY **** IS STILL F-ED UP!!!! I have it at a garage right now my timing was off which i dont see how it is possible becuase it was sitting in a garage for two months not touched(the engine) . Now we got it sort of running but it is smoking bad very bad.
check somthing out. when it's running, take off the oil cap to see if any smoke comes out of the hole, and if it does, then that's some bad news, your pistons rings are gone if any smoke comes out, check it out and hit me up, it mite just be a head gasket.

man...free bump for you.
i would realign the timing belt to it's TDC (top dead center). about the no sparks...i'm having the same **** with my b16a.
