Default idles low with a/c on

i just put a jdm 1.5 sohc vtec in my 93 civic hatch. i also rebuilt the a/c system. when the a/c is on and i come to a stop or push the clutch in the rpms get so low that the motor vibrates ,feels like it is about to die. the rpms are almost 0. is there a way to adjust the idle when the a/c is on? any help would be greatly appreciated ,thanks

1.5L engine + AC = low idle and concurrent vibrations.

If it hasn't ever stalled out on you, it's fine

Do you know how to relearn your IACV? If not you could adjust your idle by turning the screw on the throttle body out.

I actually had this problem, if its a used compressor then its probably going to go out pretty soon, they dont last forever, unless they serviced regularly then its going to start ceazing up pretty soon. Its basically loading your engine down, pretty soon the belt will start squeeling.

Make sure you're idle is where it should be when the A/c is off. (the specs should be on the under side of the hood) If that is good then live with it or turn the Idle up to a little above spec.

cant live without it in S. Florida. well you could but you'd be one sweaty stank ****.

agreed. But i think that this also happens when you overfill the lines even if its a fairly new compressor. happened to me. check the a/c clutch when the car is stumbling and you'll see that it correlates with the low idle.
what happens next? well if you dont get it serviced soon your a/c clutch flies off on the highway.

well your map sensor isnt picking up the extra load on the engine..the map sensor should see the increased load and tell the ecu that it need to bump the idle up
