Idle problems
I have a 99 ek1 and I believe it is not idleing correctly. It has its original b16a2 with about 100,000 miles of wear on it. The car should idle around 600-800 when warmed up, however i believe mine drops down below that. The rpm, when idleing, readins a little over half way between 0 and 1,000 rpm. When the car is first started it progressivly drops down from 1,500.
It seems to be idleing just a tad bit lower than usual... any ideas?

Re: Idle problems (HCivicSi23)
I keep up with all the maintenece and more. Its a modified ek1. The o2 sensors work except i have a test pipe and the secondary o2 sensor is ofset from the test pipe about an inch and a half so it doesnt read the bad emissions.

Re: Idle problems (HCivicSi23)
I had the same problem with my civic, It was my timing belt. After I changed that bitch out my car has been running fine. Has the CEL popped up? Because mine didnt. Do you know if the timing belt/chain has ever been changed? I had 95000 miles but Im pretty sure the timing was never changed before I got the car. I know its a bit expensive to replace, if your not sure thats the problem, but in order to know if it is anything else you need to be sure that your timing isn't off. I replaced all kinds of **** for nothing when I couldve just changed the timing belt.
