I dont think its a jdm motor being that it has a number after the b18c indicating where the block was originally made.. For example the b18c5 where 5 indicates that it was made in the U.S.. same for the b18c1 where 1 indicates that it was also made in the U.S but for the GS-R model..
I believe the b18c3 is from Poland. the #3 indicates its from Poland
All Jdm motors will NOT have a number after the engine code.. so a type R motor will be b18c
wrong....
all vtec motors will have the word VTEC on the valve cover besides some single cam vtec.. so the h22a is vtec meaning it has a vtec on the valve cover
therefore, according to your sentence, the ls is the only one without the vtec on the valve cover
wrong.... b18c5 and b18c are slightly different type R motors..

Yeah in the ones actually from Japan they are all stamped b18c
According to wikipedia the C3 is from ITR in Taiwan and Hong Kong and in the Civic VTi.
