I'd like to know if my map light is working correctly?
Hi, thanks for reading.
I recently bought a 92 Civic Dx, hatchback and It has a minor problem with the map light. The light comes on when the Pass. side door is opened and it does'nt when the driver's side is opened. I changed the door switch but that did'nt fix it.
I metered it and found voltage on the pass. side and not the driver's but with key in the ignition if the driver's side switch is pressed it turns the chime off. So my question is how can this be fixed. Or is this how it's suppose to work(pass. door=map light and driver' door=key chime)

Re: (jimmy o.)
I changed both switches on the door jamb. The pass. side switch, when pressed turns the maplight on and the driver side switch turns the key chime off, it seems. Now I don't know if it's like this on all the 92 civics.
