Default iacv cleaning.

Is it safe to use engine degreaser to clean an IACV? I'm planning on cleaning mine in the morning and its the only cleaning product I have on hand. Just want to know if its OK to use or if I need to go shopping.

According to the FAQ on cleaning the iacv, it calls for simple green. So Spic and Span should work also right??

"brake parts clearer" works also. On top of that I use one of those keybord cleaner things(those compressed air cans) then let it dry

For a second there I thought that pic was going to be a guy spraying brake cleaner on his laptop.

I used brake cleaner. Engine degreaser may work but it's designed to break down grease. Brake cleaner will eat away at those carbon deposits in the IACV. Give it a good scrub with an old toothbrush or something like that too. My IACV was beyond cleaning though and I ended up having to replace it.

Finally got it off and clean. Spic &Span worked great. One of the coolant lines cracked in me when I was taking it off and had only 15 minutes to pry it off and get it to an auto shop for replacing. It was hectic
