I um....BENT my car.....help
yea. I'm a moron. stupid. dumb. I hate myself
(This is a 99 EK)
Working on the car today with a friend, jacked up the car from the front after puttint it on 2x4 blocks.
I thought I had the jack in the right spot, but it was about 2 inches off the mark(under where the A/C compressor USED to be) jacked the car up, did the work, and lowered the car when we were done.
went to close the hood. closed, but the gap is more than a THREE finger gap!
I bent the Front Cross member, not a huge bend, and no cracks, but I need some serious body shop advice. Can this be bent, hammered, heated, etc back into position? The member is welded on, it's not something I can just order and replace.
I really fucked up, I know, but the quickest way to fix this would be appreciated, I'm all out of time.

Not to be overly negative but You're F'd...
Take it to a body shop... there's NO WAY anyone here can tell you exactly what to do without seeing it...
chances are you'll need a whole new crossmember if it's even fixable.

I would recommend hammering the bend back into place with a ball-pen hammer. It might be weaken after that, have a muffler shop reinforce the member... Hopefully you didn't do too much perminate damage. Do worry, it happens, just has never happen to me...
Good luck

Damn man you gotta be careful when working with something as important as your car. You should definitly have a body shop check it out before you try anything crazy.
