i was told i can't do this but... [LCA swap]
i don't understand why. if it's true can someone tell me why instead of just "no it won't work."
i have a set of tein ss dampers [92-95 civic].
i want to run them on a 96-00 civic.
i know that the damper fork size on the rear damper is different between the 92-95 civic and the 96-00 civic. i believe the 96-00 civic fork is wider hence the difference in the LCA's. now i thought the only difference in the LCA's was the bushing the damper attaches to. that being stated if someone has 92-95 civic dampers why can't they be bolted onto a 96-00 civic if the 96-00 LCA's were changed to 92-95 LCA's...
what am i missing????

you cant swap 92-95 lcas onto a 96-2000 because the 92-95 are shorter. you can get aftermarket lcas such as spc that will run a thinner bushing allowing you to use them.

i can tell you the LCAs are different length for one thing. The position of the bolt hole to the frame relative to the fork is different. I suppose with a spacer strong enough, this could work, assuming you got the right sized bushing required. Swapping control arms, assuming they fit (remember rear suspension is multilink) would cause a nasty affect on camber, and I dont know if the cabmer kit would fix it, i think no, cause of where the front of the trailing arm mounts, this would be like, angled with a lot of added stress.

i thought 92-95 civic lca's are like 94-00 integras. Hence why many people with eg's bought ss's for 94-00 dc2's. If this is true, then all you would need to do is use some washers to make the dampers fit as 96-00 civic lca bushings are thinner than eg;s and dc's.

i just don't wanna do the washer thing... but if i must. better than shelling out another $945 for coilovers... unless i sell mine

the EK shock bushing is narrower than the EG/DC bushing. Many companies sell shocks for EK's that are identical to the ones that are for the EG/DCs but simply come with four washers.

yes the 92-95 lcas are the same as 94-2001 integras but hes wanting to take shocks designed for a 92-95 and use them on a 96-00 civic. the 92-95 lcas are shorter length wise than the 96-2000, in addition to the bushings being different thicknesses. again all you need to do is get some aftermarket lcas that are the right lenght but using the thin bushings. SPC again is a fine example.

Yep Tokico blues can be used on 92-00 civics and come with the washes for use on the 96-00 civics. Just try out some washers.

The bushings on those new LCA's should be the same size as stock ones so yes you can put 92-95 dampers on them, but you need to put washers around the bushings.

I'm pretty sure that you will still need the washers...
get over it, you need the washers to run a shock that was not designed for your car...
