both my rear shocks on my 96 ek are gone, so my ride seems to be a little bumpy, how long can i ride with the bad shocks? i dont have the money right now to replace em and id much rather just save up some more money and get a whole new suspension.........whats the worst that could happen if i keep them on for too long? how long is TOO long? need some advice........

if they blow, or have already blown.. they will be extremly bumpy. Other than that nothing. Your choice, you will loose handling control, which is a danger to you, and yourself.

If they bounce a lot, they are shot. If they are bumpy as in stiff, they are not. So, you're from Queens...go onto the BQE where Flushing Meadows Park is, enter it, there is a spot on the Expressway where it splits up (left and right), stay on the right side. It's REALLY uneven (like a wave). If your rear bounes up and down without stopping AFTER you pass them, they're blown. Just don't do this at a high rate of speed. I bottomed out when I was living there.

Re: (Dimi)
yeah they def shot, i dont think the bqe passes by flushing meadow, u mean the grand central parkway? now that we on the topic? do u reccommend just buying some new shocks dat dont cost too much (like some ebay quality)to avoid any accidents? or just hold off a month or two and get a complete new suspension when i got the cheddar cheese.....other then losing handle control no major mechanical problems would result from driving wit the shot shocks right? just checking.......

if your getting a lot of what sounds like wheel noise with the odd suspension feel u might wanta check your rear wheel bearings too... i thought my rear shocks were gone but found out it was a bad rear wheel bearing.. ur case is probly shocks but the bearings r just something to check also

My bad (haven't been back in over 2 years), yeah the GCP that leads onto the BQE. Right before it, from what I remember (if it hasn't beem fixed yet), is really bumpy.
