When changing my steering wheel last night on my 96 civic the SRS reel ripped off when I ripped my steering wheel off. I guess the airbag plug got caught on the steering wheel. So the reel fell to the ground and the tape unwinded.

I rolled the tape back on the black plastic reel and put my steering wheel back on. If I plug in the airbag the SRS light stays on, I unplugged it so it doesn't blow in my face unexpectedly.

Is that piece ruined now? Can I just replace the wheel and tape? Thanks.

go to junk yard and get a new one, Srs thing ma gig got owned by the owner

need a new one. they can be fixed but likely you will get the reel off center and have boom boom in ur face
