make sure that water does not leak in the passenger floor area . some do so if the car has an air freshener make sure you check that out could be funky. look for a stock one to. if the car is a moded out it will be dificult to fix stuff if you don't know how it was doned. rims are cool though. and for the the fist mod i would swap the motor, this car is the most easily swaped.

check the rear fender wells since they are prone to rusting and as with buying any used car check the body lines to make sure they are pretty straight

VX and Si are easier to wire of VTEC
VX and CX are lightest with the DX close behind
Si is the heaviest but has rear discs and Sunroof and Clock and some other gay **** too
Si's are the rarest too.
DXs dont have tachometers... =was stupid there...

like he said, check for rust on the quaterpanels...
dings on the sides...
check the engine bay and the engine to see how its been taken care of...
just the normal stuff, but mostly the rust on the quarterpanels

heres a little advice
" JDM or SPOON "
dont be a tool.
and if your buying a 5speed warm the car up good and do some hard shifts into 2nd and 3rd. 3rd is the most prone syncro to dying on a honda.
if you are unsure take it to honda and have them do a pre-purchase inspection.

Re: I need tips on buying a used EG (Kamin)
I'd have someone who knows a lot about cars come and check it out. Make sure you take a test drive to insure that everything is aligned pretty good, mine does but I got a pretty good deal on it and I don't care because I"m replacing pretty much everything minus the body. Speaking of the body, rust is your enemy if it even REMOTELY looks like there's rust I would ask him to lower the price a little. um... make sure the motor runs well and doesn't burn oil... once again mine does, but i'm gettin an engine swap. Ok, I'm tired of typing.

a good idea that sounds wierd. If you are interested in the car. Ask the guy if you can give it a car wash. That way when washing you will notice any dings or accidents. It will give you a a chance to look over the whole car. Like mensioned above look for rust, and if you want to get even more elaborate, use a magnet on some spots you think an accident may have occured. If the magnet does not stick well on certain spots or does not stick at all there might be alot of bondo involved. Also try knocking on the spot and comparing it to a spot where you know the metal is fine. also sometimes dents are a little more noticable when the car is wet...
good luck,
daniel

i think he was refering to a swap. it would be easier to wire, lets say, a b16 vtec.

but for a B18C1, you would have to add the knock sensor wire and switch around one wire for the IAB.
