Default I need reliable fog lights

I cant believe this. I bought some fog light from this local auto shop for my civic, turns out they were those crappy Ebay ones he told me they were the real deal, and of course they didnt accept returns. They were working fine for a while then my switch broke. So i had to get a new switch then they were working for a while now they stopped working all together the switch is fine but something else is wrong, im sick of this! I just want some fog lights that wont have something break in two months.

I was looking at these, anyone have any experience with these ones? Are they reliable?

no they aint. I bought this bramd before for all my civic. Both eg and ek. Never had issues with any of them. Anyone will tell you these are the best next to stanley. All other cheap ones on ebay aint DEPO. Depo makes the si taillights for the ek. And the jdm headlights. ai bought all of the above and never ever had an issue with fitment nor quality. But if you want to dish 2 the price for password ones go ahead. These are the same ****. They are also glass and not plastic like some ebay ones.

I bought the password ones before and they are DEPO foglights with a Passwordjdm box. Never had a problem. I didnt use the switch though. I just wired them into my corner lights. Bulbs burned out from time to time and the ground disconnected once. Other than that, worked fine.

I know but I didnt want to use the switch. I wanted it on whenever my corner lights lit up. Before I had the switch and sometimes in a hurry I would forget to turn my fogs off.

nope. The depo harness is longer and more stuff. That above harness seems to be missing the hot wire. That goes on the battery. Atleast the depo ones are like that. I'll take a pic of my **** when I get it. Besides a person above stated that password uses the depo ones. What more proof do you need?

The depo/no name brand allow you that option. It depends on which option port you plug it in on the fuse box.

are fog light really an improvement of overall lightning at night?
I might need to get fog lights soon since I drive around 6:30 in the morning which is like at night still (really dark).
Those replica off eBay are all plastic besides the Depo brand?

The ebay ones are GAY. In lighting and in quality. I bought a set just to test them. The switch was all cheap plastic..etc...etc. I found so many flaws on it compared to my previous depo ones. So i returned it got my 50 bux back and put another 20 bux down to buy some DEPO ones of ebay. Just make sure you search them as DEPO foglights. So you can get the search results for DEPO.

Search for NOFX's thread about DEPO VS Esuse.

DEPO is shitty compared to Esuse. Bad seals, wiring is not OEM. Esuse is pretty much the closest you can get to OEM without paying that much. I got mine for $60 shipped. Literally plug and play, your car is prewired for it.

is it worth it? will I notice the difference using a stock halogen headlight along with a yellow foglight? or am I better off getting HID for lightning?

My understanding is the '99-'00 DEPO ones aren't as bad as the '96-'98 DEPO ones. The '99-'00 DEPOs have wiring similar to OE, but the harness posted above is what they get with the '96-'98 kit. It is a crappy kit with crappy lenses with crappy everything. It even had a crappy picture of a crappy Civic on the crappy box they came in.

Esuse come in clear and yellow. They used to be a lot easier to find a couple years ago but have gotten more difficult to find in the past two years or so. Esuse lights are so similar that you can cannibalize the assemblies for parts for the OE ones.

And yeah, I realize this is an old thread, but I had more info to add to it.

The password ones are alright, I have them. My only issue is my relays keep going out, I think it's because it rains so much in Miami. I guess I need to find a better place to put it..
