i need a quick answer to a stupid question: ground wire

Default i need a quick answer to a stupid question: ground wire

i dont think my valve cover ground wire is connected right anymore, the car feels slow in accelerating. anyway, heres a dumb question, i plan on fixing it, but do i have disconnect the battery first to avoid any danger?

what danger would you be avoiding? i mean if your just gonna replace the ground wire then your car should be fine... unless you wanna sit in your car and preset your headunit again cuz u pulled the battery out... but other then that, your fine... replace it with a thick kind of ground wire too...

I don't think a valve cover ground would cause your car to accelerate slow.

disconnect battery when there's a possibility of a short.. since you're dealing with ground only, no need to disconnect it from battery... even though as a safety precaution, it's
always a good idea to disconnect power when dealing with electronics

bad ground could affect certain sensors which could cause sluggishness in general.. tight, clean grounds are always a good thing
