I need help replacing piston rings on stock B20 pistons: w/turbo
Hey, guys
I'm kind of in a desperate situation to get my car back on the road before it snows, so I would really appreciate it if you could help me.
here are my questions:
1)how the hell do I take the top two piston rings out? 'cause they are jammed in there not wanting to come out.
2)can I use B16 ARP main bolts on a B20?
3)ring end gap specs for a stock B20
4)could I possibly use the molylube(out of ARP product) as an "assembly lube"? I'm asking 'cause I've heard you could but making sure with you guys.
**I have all the parts, tools, and a basic nology on how to position the rings.
Thanks in advance

You need a ring expander. You cant take off rings without damnaging them without that tool.
Use B20 main bolts
Top ring: .0018 inch - .0028inch
second ring: .0015 inch - .0026inch
Dont know about the moly lube for assembly lube. I would just pick up assembly lube instead.

Re: I need help replacing piston rings on stock B20 pistons: w/turbo (Luserkid)
Thanks
I got the top two piston rings out by dipping top part of pistons in a hot water and pryed the rings out. it came out good.
oh yeah, where I live don't have assembly lube nor they could order it unless I drive out of town and go to the bigger town.
anyone else know about using a MOLYLUBE as an assembly lube?
