Default i need to fix this quick...

ok i was driving down the street and suddenly my rpms drop to zero , car shuts off and im stranded...i finally get it home after work around 5 am...i hear the fuel pump,checked fuses, changed distrubutor cap and rotor and ignition coil is tested as still good...i have no spark but the rotor turned so timing is not broke...changed at 218000 now at 222700...please help as this is my only car...what could be wrong...its a d16z6 in 93 civic coupe

Do you know anyone who could lend you a dizzy to try swapping out to see if that's it?

umm...i dont know...possibly...but with all those things good could that still be the problem

Mine did the same thing in a 99 Si civic, it was a loose tranny & alternator ground.

could be the infamous bad grounding in the harness, make sure ur thermostat ground is good.

follow ur bottom radiator hose to the housing u should see a plug on it and if u also look on it they have a ground there for the harness. clean it up and makes sure its tight . clean ur tranny ground wire to fram and valve cover ground up by the headlite. if that dont work then report back. make sure u check all ur fuses as well.

If bad grounds were the problem, the fuel pump would not prime. Have the igniter unit in the distributor tested.

thanks i didnt look at this til today...but after a long nite at work it was indeed the ignitor in the distributor...so i replaced that and all is well...thanks for all the great advice
