I'm confused. A downpipe refers to the piping coming off a turbine. Is your header a one-piece or two? Are you talking about the collector or the cat?

So you have a two piece header but you only have the top piece?

Using only the top half is not going to help very much. If you don't have the whole thing, you shouldn't even bother. Just save up some money, and get the whole thing. Just my opinion

It's a good bet that only a DC a-pipe will fit a DC manifold. Be sure and actually call it an a-pipe.

I'll tell you right now, I'm having a flange problem with my 2 piece. I keep burning up the gasket in there because the flange is not 100% straight anymore because it's been disassembled so many times. You could be in for the same headache by trying to mate header A with downpipe B. I'm pretty much at the point where I'm just ready to buy a new header instead of fighting this thing.
