I have 98 Hx Auto. I want Manual. What do I need to do/get?
Well I have a 98 Hx (D16y5) and its a CVT Auto (ewWw). I want to get a Manual Tranny. What do I need to do/get? Thanks in advanced. (oh btw... I searched but couldnt find anything that would answer my questions)

there are a few write ups on the web you can use if you find them. what parts do you think you need? list them and i'll add to the list what you forgot. it's not a hard swap.

You'll need a manual HX ECU, a manual D-series tranny/clutch/flywheel, lines, pedals, shift linkage...etc

you will also need to rewire with a 5 spd o2 sensor since it the normal 4 wire one is NOT compatible with the 5 wires on the 5spd ecu looks for.
also the EGR system is quite different for a 5 spd, so you will probably need to go ahead and get the 5 speed intake manifold with the egr stuff attached....or go to the stealership to get the parts.
converting an HX to manual is a LOT more work than it is fort any other Civic.
