short ram intake sits inside your engine bay and sucks in warm air from inside the engine bay, while the cold air intake goes down into your bumper, to suck in the cold air that is outside of the engine bay. So the cold air intake is a little better for making more power or atleast that is the theory behind it.

you will feel a slight power difference between the cold air and short ram intakes, but if your not serious about racing and going fast save your $70

Keep in mind that the cold air, longer tube intake, will make great midrange power, but the short ram makes more top end power. If you have an automatic, you might want to think about some kind of cold air set up. I prefer top end performance, so I use a short ram, with a flex hose that goes from my bumper to the engine bay, right below the filter, it's cheap, and it works.

Cold air can hydro-lock in the rain. It happened to me , luckly I was going very slow and it just stopped the engine. Pulled the plugs and water was in the cylinder. Cranked it without plugs and water came out all over my buddy, I couldn't stop laughin

Spend the $70. Do it right the first time. Unless of course, you want a really loud intake. How long do you plan on owning this car? At least a year? $70/12 months = $5.83 a month for the cold air intake that will make a few more hp. What is the loss? Then you will never think about upgrading.
