I got a couple of questions about short shifters..
so i've been planning on getting one but i'm uncertain on which one to get.
skunk2 seems to be the best but that is wayyy outta my price range.
now i've been looking at b&m shifters too and their price seems pretty reasonable ($50ish) but i was reading about them and people were saying that they tend to rattle a lot. that would bug the **** outta me so this shifter is a maybe.
and the last ones ive been looking at are the cheap ebay ones. again i was looking these up and people are always saying that they snap due to the fact that their made out of aluminum. BUT there are some on ebay that are made out of steel and i've heard those are pretty good.
so which shifter should i get? oh and btw i want a dual bend one if that even matters.

If you want to do a worthwhile mod on the cheap just do the Energy suspension shifter bushings... I have the skunk2 short shifter... Its nice and all but the I noticed the biggest difference when I did the bushings, it is like night and day and hardly costs anything...

be careful buying anything of ebay. I have broken ebay short shifters, it's not hard at all to snap them.
My friend has B&M it rattles like crazy and gets old fast.
Just save up and bite the bullet, dont cheep out on parts.

I agree on the bushings. Had slop like a worn out *****. Did the bushings, and replaced the o-rings @ the bottom of the shift lever itself, greased 'em up good and the rest is history. Short throws are overrated, save your $ for something else more important.

I've got a b&m on my ek, have yet for it to rattle at all. I have a GReddy cat back so it is 2.5" all the way back, and the shifter still has a lot of clearence between it and the exhaust. With ES bushings it feels like shifting a whole new car, I love it. The b&m is really good quality too, not worried about anything ever going wrong with it.

I bet you after you do the bushings you won't feel the need for spending any money on a short shifter...
I would just wait and make sure you get the one you want... Also make sure you get a dual bend or the shifter won't end up in the most ideal place (for a civic)...

i had a couple of cheap short shifters and they all broke. so i decided to spend the money and buy the skunk2 shifter. that has been the best short shifter i have ever bought, i highly recommend it.

The shifter really doesn't make that much of a difference...

I'm about to ****** a skunk2 and I wanted to check on that and saw this post so I figured it was a good time to ask...my shifter now is OEM but I cut off about 1.5 inches and re-threaded it.

I have a double bend B&M and ES bushings. Went to Summit on a discount day and my total package price was $50! =D
B&M shifters need special rubber washers to go in between the shifter ball and mounting spot. I bet this is why some rattle, they didn't do it ;]. Mine doesn't rattle at all and that 30% throw shortage is awesome! The bushings are a must as well.

I'm using a Z-speed shifter and couldn't be happier. It sits in the same place as a stock one, but the throw is different because of the fulcrum placement.
Then again I never got in my car and though, "DAMN, is this shift **** high / DAMN, is this throw long!"
I know the Z-Speed is aluminum and therefore stands a chance of snapping, but I'll continue to hope it doesn't since I'm okay with it and like how old it is (produced sometime between 1994 and 1998, which fits with my car's year too).
I was perfectly fine with my stock one but went to this one because it came with a swap we purchased for my household.

If you don't mind me asking...what's the position/feel difference on the dual bend?

The dual bend just brings the shifter a little closer to you which I think works out better in a civic... My buddy has a single bend and likes mine better...

^Yes and at only $10. When you buy them, you'll see. Hold them side by side to your stock bushings and try to squeeze the ES ones as easily as you can the stock ones.
You won't be able to.

Doesn't the Integra shifter have a shorter throw? I think that may be an option.
