I DROVE My Car Tonight!!!
As some of you may know, I've been building a CX for the past 7 months ever since I sold my 1992 Si hatchback, and I FINALLY drove it about an hour ago!!!
Pardon the caps and exclamation points, but I cannot contain myself.
I started all the finishing crap on the car around 3:00 ET today and with the help of 3 other guys or so, we finished (mostly) the car at roughly 10:30 or so.
The mostly part is because there is a bad ground under the dash somewhere that won't allow the ignition switch to give power to the distributor, but when we ran a hard wire to it the car fired up and we let it warm up so I could "test" the car out.
HOLY SHIET!!!
That's all I can say about the short drive I took in the car.
After the coil-overs ettled in the car was WAY too low and I've yet to align it, so my seat time was only about 5-10 minutes, but in that shirt time I realized a few things:
1. The car is STUPID light.
2. The car vibrates a lot with no interior and all poly bushings in the mounts, shifter, and sus stuff. No rattles though!
3. The brakes are STUPID. I went easy on them at first and only dabbled in them on my way back to the driveway of the shop - they will be plenty for the car.
4. The car is LOUD. Stupid loud. Almost too quiet at idle, but as soon as VTEC blows up, so does the Tanabe Super Medallion Racing Spec exhaust. I'm totally impressed with the craftmanship of this exhuast. Any of you who call it rice can kiss my ***. It's full stainless and is THE single lightest exahust I've picked up. (Never picked up a titanium though)
5. The car needs an alignment And to be raised as well.
That's about it. I am coming in to work an hour early in order to clean up our mess and hopefully to see where the bad ground is. Since everything got painted, we figure that we'll just have to re-pull the under dash grounds and scrape some paint - *hopefully* is the key there.
I promise I'll give a FULL report once the car is at the correct height and the Konis are all dialed in, and most importantly the alignment is done. We will align it tomorrow, and hopefully the ground prob will be fixed and I can drive it HOME!!!
Lates y0!

Re: I DROVE My Car Tonight!!! (B18C5-EH2)
BTW: For those of you wondering what the car set-up is, here off the top of my head:
1992 CX base - STRIPPED (Has to be sub-2000lbs. I'll be sure to post DONE pics...)
1998 USDM Integra Type R full swap (B18C5, LSD J4D tranny)
ATS 4.929 Final Drive set
Clutchnet Double Diaphram Pressure Plate and 6-puck sprung disc
AEM CAI
Tanabe Racing Spec Exhaust
Koni full coil-overs
GS-R rear swaybar
All GS-R brakes
RS booster and Brake Master Cylinder
Stainless Earl's lines
Slotted rotors (woopie! no biggie really...)
15'' Rotas with 195/50/15 Pirelli P700Z - 140 treadware - sticky, but rides like ***
There's more, but I'm sleepy and going to bed now. I'll post every little detail along with pics and a full driving impression once I've got the car 100% DONE and I've driven it on the most important area:

Re: I DROVE My Car Tonight!!! (B18C5-EH2)
Here's a few pics of the unfinished car - car is all done exterior-wise now
The interior looks pretty much the same still like that second pic. I have only 2 front seats and a dash - that's it. No headliner, door plastics, rear panels, radio, speakers, carpet, etc.
All I'll have is the full dash, front seats, center console (need my cup holders y0!), and 1995 EX floormats (so not to scrath the painted surfaces).
For real this time, late!

It's just like when those classic car guys finish their 56 T-Bird...But only yours is a 92 Civic. Well, the anology seemed okay in my head. It's really nice to actually see a car built from day one, and to have you share the pics with all of us. Good luck with everything, and for the love of God, take care of that car!

Damn it's about time you got the finnished. I'd be sleeping in that bitch if i were you. I've been thinking about selling my 93 si and doing the same thing. PM me later when you get around to it. I want to see how much this all endup costing.

Congrats! What is the car mainly going to be used for? Is it a daily driver or auto-x? (doesn't your gf think your nuts? my gf would NEVER understand a stripped interior lol)...
