Default I crashed my hatch...

the other day it was raining and my michelins on my gsr rims suck in the rain and my car spun out, i lost control, and the rear end of my car met the guard rail. i need a new bumper, tail lights, and driver's side rear panel. my insurance gave me some options. they gave me a list of 3 shops that i can take it to and they'll just send the bill to my insurance company. or, i can take it in for an estimate and they'll cut me a check and i can take it whereever. the places they offered will help me find a rental car, they'll pick up and drop off my car, and they have warranties. do u think the shop'll buy me half clear half red tails instead of stock at the xpense of the insurance company? or should i just get the check, buy the tails, buy a aftermarket bumper, and take it to a korean shop i kno that does it for cheap? how much do stock bumpers cost ne ways? if i buy aftermarket and get it painted, will i b saving $? sorry bout all these ?'s but this is my 1st accident. thanx guys...

sorry to hear about your hatch...I suggest doing some research and weighing out all your options yourself...there's only so much help I can provide otherwise, but maybe someone else could feed you some numbers. just look at the financial feasbility of all your options and if after that, you can't make a decision, let us know what's up and maybe someone could help. good luck.
sorry bout all these ?'s but this is my 1st accident. thanx guys...
and hopefully your last..

tell them that you have a shop preference. some times they'll go for it. they'll always have a recommendation at that time just to get you going so you don't take your time looking around. i saw a guy have front end damage on his integra. the race shop he went to was able to get a type r front end and carbon fiber hood.

I say you shop around for the highest estimate and use that. Then when you get the check see where you can get the best deal and use the left over money for whatever you want for your car.

Most of the time aftermarket parts are cheaper than stock, i'm sure the repair won't mind getting clears etc.

take it to Millen autobody in redmond for an estimate. they do QUALITY work, and the price follows that suit.

no man keep your head up, if the insurance company totaled the car then they will usually give you the option to buy it back from them and you will get a check. so buy it back from them and then find a place that will do the work for you. and you can get the after market tail lights you want and/or an after market bumper if you want it.
the car i have now was in an accident (i didnt know about it when i bought it) so it has projector headlights (cheaper then new stock ones) and a momo steering wheel (cheaper then replacing the stock with airbag). also if you find a place that will do the work cheap enough but with good work you might think about painting it a different color.
its not all over man your alive its just a car (i know its hard for me to say also)

the body places have to make your car back the way it was before the wreck. so if you had aftermarket parts or whatever they will put it back the way it was. thats if you decide to take it to the body shop
