Humming noise
Car is 93 MT Civic Coupe EX with a D16Z6 and 138K
Low down: Last november I changed Bearings, driveshafts, tierod ends (I & O) and LBJ. (drive shafts only since the rubber had split) Since then I have a humming noise (similar to the sound of aircraft engines in a passenger jet when cruising). It starts occuring above 25 mph and increases/decreases with speed but its not engine noise as it overshadows the noise of the engine. When I push in the clutch and coast, the noise persists at whatever speed I am currently at and eventually stops when the car stops.

Re: Humming noise
did u change bearings as in front wheel bearing?
had similar humming noise when speed increases in my bro in law celica
my problem was a bad front wheel bearing even though i checked for play and it didnt move
for your car i would try rotating tires first to see if the problem still occurs
if not its your tire
maybe need wheel balance
tire pressure not right

Re: Humming noise
Tires were replaced before the noise started occuring. OEM sized tires according to tire rack. I had the wheel bearings replaced as well as the other items mentioned in the original post. How do I determine which wheelbearing (or if its the wheel bearing?)

Re: Humming noise
It appears to be coming from the front, I am unable to determine where its coming from while being inside the car, my attempts at using a digital recorder under the hood were futile as all I heard was the entire under the hood area

Re: Humming noise
what i usually do is jack it up on stands and run the engine on any gear except reverse and get under the car and someone speeds up to w/e mph the sound occurs and i would go under or try to locate the sound on the outside
i know it sounds scary but if u do it right its the only way unless you take it to shop and and put it on four post lifter
anyone got any good ideas better than me?
