Default Huge Tail light Problem!!!

I need some creative people to give me some help...On my 00 hatch my driver side taillight decided to start leaking AGAIN! I had done the DIY and redid and remade the taillight gasket. It was fine untill a week ago and we had a nice down pour and sure enough, my trunk had a nice little puddle in it.

Now my problem isn't knowing where the water is getting through, its i can't get the nuts off that hold the taillight in. The 2 upper nuts will just spin and spin and spin. The stud from the actualy light doesn't move but the nut just keeps on spinning. I have tried vice grips to try and pull and spin...no luck!

I can't keep having water fill my trunk, so if anyone has ideas, other then just breaking my taillight let me know.

and if i have to break it then someone have a 96-98 tails they want to sell me cheap well then giddy up!!!

Thanks
David

the other end of that should also be threadd in the tail light so if you take off the one that will come off and just keep spinning the other it should and might come out. just a sugestion

the prob is the 2 top nuts just keep spinning so i can't just take the light off and i think the thread is molded into the rear part of the housing

just a suggestion because i don't think ive ever ran into or heard of a prob. like this what if you just tug on the taillight and then try to ratchet it off cause there would be more pressure on the nut so again just a suggestion good luck to you

see thats what i was thinking is that if i put pressure on the back as to push the nut off and ratchet at the same maybe it will get it over the spot where the threads must be messed up but it still doesn't move ...well it moves, but not off . ill be looking at it and trying more rigged up ideas so if anyone has a clue let me know! thanks for the help

ok well i got the tail light off , but had to rip the top two bolts out of the light. so i def need to get a new taillight which kind of sucks but no big deal.

I guess some of the rtv or part of the gasket for the taillight got stuck in there and even with the nut and bolt ripped out it still won't come apart! So if anyone has a set of 96-98 hatch tails let me know!
