Default Hub Removal Help...

Ya so today i was trying to put in my skunks 2 studs, and i get the caliper off and the rotor off, no problem. but then i try to take the big nut off the center of the hub and it wouldnt move a tic. Any Suggestions how to get it off?? I had a huge breaker bar on it, with me standing on that, jumping up and down... Help y0

bigger bar, impact gun, lift the front end of the car up wedge the bar on the ground and put it in gear (never tried that one though)

If I can't break it jumping up and down on the bar (it flexes too much 200 pounds, lol). I just take lock the steering wheel, get in a good position, and pull with both hands down as much as I can. This way I never ran into problem with breaking them loose. I can even break those huge 36mm axle nuts on my car this way (3ft breaker bar).

2004.10.3

My friends and I broke 2 half inch sockets and a 3/8 head breaker bar trying to get a hub nut (driveaxle nut) off of an Integra. I cut my hand on one as well... ouch!

ANYWAYS, we used tissue paper inside the axle socket along with a 1.5" diameter axle nut breaker specialty tool from SEARS and then put a 6' long fence post over the end to break the Integra nut loose... and that was 4 guys together, 2 pulling up and 2 pushing down before it finally just b-a-r-e-l-y budged and broke loose.

Hopefully your axle nut will be much easier... try an impact gun with socket if it doesn't come off by hand. That's my best suggestion (and yes, my pals and I did try an air gun... that only stripped out the socket we had!)
